Navionics Updates is meant to be a discounted path for updates of older Navionics charts (Silver/Gold/HotMaps Premium/Marine & Lakes) plus access to Navionics+.

The product is a packaged card offering:

• 12 month of Freshest Data to Nautical Charts, SonarCharts™, and Community Edits
• Download content from within one of the available regions
• Ability to enhance charts with sonar logs upload feature*
• Eligible charts: Silver, Gold, HotMaps Premium, Marine & Lakes USA

Dealer benefits:

• The quick, easy and convenient answer to customer question: “How do I update my chart?”
• Dealer just has to make the sale, the rest is done at home by customer

Customer benefits:

• Low price/Easy way to update
• Upgrade to Navionics+ including SonarCharts™ and 12 months of Freshest Data
• Sonar logs upload feature for more accurate local SonarCharts™
• Ability to change media type and coverage area
• Buy anytime, but activate when needed (eg: right before first boat trip of the season)
• Old chart can still be used as a backup

The Process:

• Customer buys Navionics Updates from a dealer
• Customer plugs the card into a PC or Mac. MSD/SD cards can be plugged in using the dedicated computer slot or the card reader provided in the product packaging. CF cards require an external reader (to be purchased separately by customer). Internet connection is required Navionics.com recognizes the Updates card and automatically initiates the download process. If necessary, the customer may select “Downloads & Updates” from navionics.com and follow simple online instructions to initiate the download process
• Customer is prompted to insert his old Navionics card which is then “blacklisted” so that it can no longer be used for updates and discounts, but can still be used in a GPS chartplotter. In case of old card unavailability, the customer has to pay the difference between Navionics Updates and Navionics+
• Customer is instructed to insert the card which will receive the downloaded content. In some cases, a new media card is required and will be shipped by Navionics directly to the end user
• Customer selects one of many regions. The region selection is definitive and cannot be changed or combined
• Customer is prompted to choose the desired coverage area from within the region they chose. More coverage can be added from within that region anytime. When downloading, customer can choose to update Nautical Charts, SonarCharts™ and Community Edits by flagging the content they want. Customers can upload sonar log recordings to enhance charts in their area anytime
